Quote About Ramadan

The philosophy of fasting calls upon us to know ourselves, to master ourselves, and to discipline ourselves the better to free ourselves. To fast is to identify our dependencies, and free ourselves from them.

Get Ready For Summer

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white, granulated sugar (can reduce to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup water (for the simple syrup)
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 2 to 3 cups cold water (to dilute)

Method

1 First make a "simple syrup". Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Stir so that the sugar dissolves completely and remove from heat.
2 While the water is heating for the simple syrup, juice your lemons. Depending on the size of the lemons, 4 to 6 of them should be enough for one cup of juice.
3 Pour the juice and the simple syrup sugar water into a serving pitcher. Add 2 to 3 cups of cold water and taste. Add more water if you would like it to be more diluted (though note that when you add ice, it will melt and naturally dilute the lemonade). If the lemonade is a little sweet for your taste, add a little more straight lemon juice to it.

Irish Soda Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Direction:

  1. Stir the milk and vinegar together, and allow to stand until curdled, about 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Gradually stir the soured milk into the flour mixture until the dough just comes together, and turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface. Knead a few times, and shape into a round. Place the dough onto the prepared baking sheet. With a sharp knife, cut an X shape into the top of the dough to release steam and help the bread keep its round shape.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 45 minutes.

Poem Day

I feel like in paradise

When I smell nature

Its like being still in heaven

When I see stagnant water

I feel like flying in the air

Unforgettable image of the beauty of nature

Which leaves in your mind it's sharp imprint

The sight of nature allows me to embark onto a new world

Nature teaches us integrity to grow more beautiful

Purity that exists in the objects of nature makes you feel pure

No matter how much time flies the beauty of nature wont erase from my memories

My love for nature wont stop

I fill the space between me and nature

While Waiting Enjoy IHOP Identical Buttermilk Pancake Recipe

Ingredients: 1 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 cup vegetable  oil (I use olive oil)
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg (slightly beaten)
1 1/2 cup buttermilk (1/8 - 1/4 cup more if needed to keep batter thinner)

Instructions:
Preheat a frying pan or griddle.  If you are using a griddle, preheat to 375 degrees.

Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl and sit aside.

Put egg and sugar in a large bowl and beat with an electric hand mixer or wire whisk until the egg is light, fluffy, and will nearly stand on it's own.

Mix the vegetable oil (I use olive oil), milk, and vanilla gently into the egg.

Now mix in the dry ingredients being careful to leave a little bit lumpy.  If you mix until smooth, your pancakes will be thin and tough.

Let Stand for 5 - 10 minutes.

Pour batter onto griddle to desired size and turn pancakes when air bubbles come to the top and burst.  Turning pancakes is made much easier if you spray your pancake turner with a non-stick spray. The turner does not stick to the uncooked dough of pancake when you are turning them.
